Treat Whooping Cough
Treat Whooping Cough As days pass by this time of year you can hear a lot of people coughing. Including me! Actually, you could hear me coughing miles away because I ended with a bad whooping cough after I lied in bed with incredible bad flu. Yeah, Norovirus strikes again!
However, I managed to get rid of the flu and get back on the feet again, but it took me several days to stop that whooping cough. I took all sorts of over-the-counter syrups, but the cough was persistent. Hence, I start googling in my grandma’s memory for some natural alternatives to stop this whooping cough which was driving me crazy. Grandma still knows every secret when it comes to alternative medicines because she worked as a nurse her entire life. Medicines are great in treating diseases, but not when it comes to immunity. She was always telling us to watch out what we eat.
So, the rule in treating whooping cough is syrup-inhalation-topical.
Syrup – you need 1 grated carrot, 1/2 lemon, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon honey
Grate the carrot or cut into very thin slices and then place on a plate, and cover with sugar. To potentiate the effect of the remedy should be added 1/2 lemon squeezed and 1 tablespoon of honey, over the whole carrot.
The dish should be placed outdoors to stand for a few minutes and is ready to be eaten when the carrot begins to eliminate its natural juice. It is recommended to take 2 tablespoons of this syrup per day, but this syrup should be taken with caution because it has a large amount of sugar and is contraindicated for those who have diabetes.
Inhalations – purchase rosemary or pine, eucalyptus, and myrtle essential oil
In 250 ml of hot water add 2-3 drops of one of the above essential oils (I used eucalyptus oil but any of the above ones will work just fine). Cover your head with a towel and inhale the steams for 10 minutes. Repeat this procedure 2-4 hours for 2 days in a row.
Topical – you need oregano, thyme, cloves or eucalyptus essential oils
Apply to the bottoms of your feet one of the above essential oils 3-5 times a day for 2 days in a row. Put on a pair of cotton socks and stay in bed. At the same time, you can apply myrtle or thyme essential oil on the chest and cover it with a warm compress.
